Salih

Ad and Samud were the grandsons of Aram, the fifth son of Sam, son of Noah. The race of Ad was known as the People of Ad, for whom Hud was sent as an apostle. After the destruction of the People of Ad, those who survived with Hud were called the People of Samud after their forefather Samud. They were also referred to as Ad the Second.

Salih was sent as an apostle to this branch of the Semitic people. Salih was of fair complexion, with a handsome physique and tall stature. He had thin hair with a grayish tinge, raised upward.

Qur’anic reminder: “And remember how He made you inheritors after the ‘Ad people and gave you habitations in the land. You build for yourselves palaces and castles in open plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So bring to remembrance the benefits you have received from God, and refrain from evil and mischief on the earth.” (S: 3, V: 7:74)

The capital of the Samud was Hejr, which is also known as Madyan-e-Salih. The Samud were very strong and stout people and had long lives. They were experts in sculpture and construction work. They used to make houses by carving into the mountains.

Qur’anic reminder: “Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the ‘Ad people, of the city of Eram, with lofty pillars, the like of which were not produced in all the land? And with the Samud people, who cut out huge rocks in the valley as stakes? All these transgressed beyond bounds and heaped therein mischief on mischief. Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements, for thy Lord is as a Guardian on a watch-tower.” (S: 89, V: 6–14)

Royal Palace

Relics of their constructed habitations still exist between Syria and Hijaz. Archaeologists have discovered a lofty building, which according to them was the Royal Palace. This palace had many rooms and a large pool of water, and the whole edifice was carved into the rocks of a mountain. Inscriptions on ancient tablets give details of the Semitic buildings. Every habitation had two main buildings: the Government Center and the Temple. The ruler lived in the Government Center, and priests resided in the Temple, and they both ruled the people with mutual consultation.

The Samud were well off. Abundance of resources and economic prosperity enabled them to afford every comfort and luxury. Wealth, prosperity, and physical strength played a key role in making them arrogant and godless. They became proud of their strength and everything they possessed. Instead of considering it a favor of God, they considered it the outcome of their hard work and capabilities. They became so dependent upon material things that they denied all that for which they could not have material evidence. This approach made them turn away from prophetic teachings, and they started carving gods of their choice for themselves. They had no faith left in resurrection or life after death. When the darkness of ignorance and infidelity prevailed, God sent Salih as His prophet for their guidance. In his time, the followers of the teachings of Hud were negligible.

Qur’anic reminder: “To the Thamud people We sent Salih, one of their own brethren. He said, ‘O my people, worship God. You have no other god but Him. Now has come unto you a clear sign from your Lord. This she-camel of God is a sign for you, so leave her to graze in God’s earth and let her come to no harm, or you shall be seized with a grievous punishment.’” (S: 7, V: 73)

The People of Samud had made a temple near the capital Hejr. In the mountains in front of that temple, they had carved their houses. In the valley they had orchards and farms and date trees. They had a spring of clean water in the valley surrounded by lush green pastures. On the other side of the habitation stood the Royal Palace of the king Jandaa.

Salih’s call

Salih used to spend most of his time in the temple. People respected him because of his virtuous nature and devotion. Once, Salih gathered his people and addressed them:

Worship God. Except for Him, no one is worthy of worship. Those whom you consider to be your gods are not your gods. Our Lord is He who has created this universe, you, and me, and He made us successors to Ad and gave us the ability to carve our houses in mountains. Be grateful to God for the favors given to you. Abandon these false gods and worship the One and only God. Ask for His forgiveness for your sins. He listens to those who call Him.”

When Salih publicly denounced the gods they used to worship, they became furious. A scene was created. People discussed among themselves. Some refuted him altogether, some ridiculed him, some abused him for creating a crisis for them, and very few who still had faith in their hearts became pensive. The chiefs of his people came to Salih and said, “We had great expectations of you because of your prudence, wisdom, and intellect. You have such a graceful personality, and we had great hopes that because of you the name of our tribe would become more respectable among other tribes, but contrary to our hopes, you started scolding the gods that we worship, and you expect us to follow you on a path we have not seen.”

Salih said, “Should I go astray just to please you when God has granted me vision and guidance? Who would save me from the wrath of my Lord? He has blessed me with His mercy, and if now I disobey Him, how can you be of any benefit to me?”

The Samud became stubborn, and their malice against Salih increased manyfold. They started torturing him to make him quit his stand. In spite of their malice and hatred, he continued to advise and preach the truth.

In response to his call, they said, “If we were not on the right path, as you say, then why do we have all these lofty palaces, wealth, and abundance of comforts and orchards? Look at your adversity and that of your followers, and then tell us who is favored.”

Salih replied, “Do not be proud of your prosperity and abundance of resources. This abundance is not the outcome of your toil and strength, and it will not last forever. God has bestowed all that you enjoy. If you are grateful to Him, He will grant you more and increase His bounties. If you prove ungrateful and become haughty, then these very bounties will turn into punishment for you.”

The Samud were not ready to accept that Salih could be chosen as a prophet of God. They thought they deserved more than Salih to deliver God’s message.

They used to taunt and ridicule those who had believed Salih and asked them, “Are you really sure that Salih has been sent to you from God?” When the believers replied that they were sure, the others were further infuriated, for they were not ready to see anyone other than themselves respected to such a degree.

They started considering him a danger to their authority and power. To degrade him before his followers they said, “We deny and reject all that which he tells you.”

Then the chiefs and leaders started a propaganda against Salih: “Salih is telling a lie in the name of God. He is just a man like any other. He eats what you eat and drinks what you drink. If you listen to a person like yourself, you will surely suffer a loss. He tells you that when you become dust after death you will be resurrected, which is against common sense. If we are to be raised again, why die in the first place? Do not be impressed by his fanciful narrations. Do not fall prey to his imaginary things.”

This propaganda affected those with superficial thinking, but those who had faith in their hearts remained unmoved by such arguments.

When the people of influence saw that the economically weak and downtrodden were impressed by Salih more than anyone else, they demanded he exhibit a miracle to prove he was truly sent by God. Salih said, “What if in spite of seeing a clear sign you do not quit infidelity and remain stubborn in your stance?”

Sign of God

The chiefs promised that if he met their demand and showed them the sign they asked for, they would believe in him. They thought to demand something impossible. They demanded that he bring forth a she-camel from the mountain that would also give birth to a calf.

Salih prostrated and prayed to God to fulfill their demand. God acceded to his prayer, and the mountain before them cracked, and a huge she-camel stepped out of that crack. The she-camel took a few steps forward and then bore a calf in front of everyone present.

After witnessing this clear sign, a few embraced faith, but most preferred darkness to the light of guidance. Salih invited them to correct themselves and mend their ways, asked them to be mindful of the blessings and bounties bestowed upon them, told them to ask forgiveness of God for their past misdeeds, instructed them to follow the commandments of the Lord, and refrain from creating chaos and disorder on God’s earth.

He painstakingly explained that there exist other worlds beyond this material world of senses, and the One who is far above everything has created all this. “It is He who has blessed you with wealth and richness and has given you these green pastures, orchards, farms, vast fields full of beautiful flowers, soothing clouds, breezes and rains, water springing from stones, flowing rivers that give life to your fields, this abundance of resources, and all the knowledge that has enabled you to have the means of comfort and luxury. God has not created all this in vain. God has given you all this so that you use it with gratitude. Do not usurp the rights of others to benefit yourselves from these bountiful things. God will certainly call you to account for all these things He has bestowed upon you. Do not forget that you will be asked about all your good and bad deeds. If you remain neglectful of your duties and become proud of your civil progress, the laws of Nature will transform your lofty palaces and green orchards into ruins, and you will be losers here and in the hereafter.”

Privileged class

The well-off were swollen with pride for their material wealth and prosperity, so they did not pay heed to the invitation of righteousness and stubbornly insisted on challenging the laws of Nature by disturbing peace and justice.

The she-camel was so large that in whichever pasture she grazed, all animals fled, frightened by her presence. When she drank, she emptied the well. The Samud had everything like wealth, power, and knowledge, but they had only one spring well.

The chiefs and priests collaborated and propagated that Salih was a sorcerer who had brought the she-camel by magic and that its calf was produced under a spell, which was why she drank so much water. They said it was a tactic to make people surrender to him and that if the spell continued, they would be short of water and die of thirst with their cattle. They told Salih to restrain his she-camel; otherwise, they would kill her.

Salih said, “O my people, worship God. You have no other god but Him. Now has come to you a clear sign from your Lord. This she-camel of God is a sign for you, so leave her to graze in God’s earth and let her come to no harm, or you shall be seized with a grievous punishment.” (S: 7, V: 73)

It was their tradition that the rich and influential would free one of their cattle to graze wherever it liked, and no one could stop it. Nature used this custom to humiliate them, and this she-camel was used. People were afraid of her as she moved freely with her calf.

Salih warned them, “Look, this she-camel is the sign you demanded. God has decided that one day of the week be reserved for her, and on that day no one else, man or animal, will drink from the well. On the other days of the week, you may use the water for yourselves and your cattle.”

The Samud agreed on the condition that Salih would allow them to milk the she-camel. Salih accepted and made them promise that they would not harm her.

Salih predicted that they would not keep their promise for long and would ultimately kill the she-camel. When people insisted, he told them that the person who would slay her had not yet been born and that he would be a man with bluish, cat-like eyes and a red face. The chiefs swore that any child with these features would be killed. Nine children with cat-like eyes and red faces were identified and killed. People became anxious and accused Salih of being behind the infanticide. The families who had lost their children were especially hostile towards him and even claimed he wanted to end their race.

Nature has its own ways. The predicted child remained safe and grew up. When the families of the slain children saw him, they said that if their sons had lived, they would have been of the same age, and their animosity increased.

Qur’anic reference: “There were in the city nine men who made mischief in the land and would not reform. They said, ‘Swear a mutual oath by God that we shall make a secret night attack on him (Salih) and his people, and then we shall say to his heir when they seek vengeance: We were not present at the slaughter of his people, and we are telling the truth.’ They plotted and planned, and We too planned, even while they perceived it not.” (S: 27, V: 48–50)

Plan to kill

Nine men from those families planned to murder Salih. They left the town on the pretext of a journey and hid in a nearby mountain pass to kill Salih in the night. But a rock fell from the hill, and they all died on the spot, crushed under the stone. After a few days, when their families learned of their deaths, they went to Salih and said, “First you had our sons killed, and now you have murdered our fathers. This is all because of your she-camel, and now we will surely kill her.”

They already harbored hatred and malice against Salih, and now they prepared men to kill the she-camel. A rich lady of the Samud offered her daughter as a prize to Kedar, the person about whom Salih had predicted that he would kill the she-camel. Another wealthy and beautiful woman promised to marry Musda if he killed the she-camel.

One day, when the she-camel was grazing, Kedar bin Salef cut her hamstrings. When the injured animal fell, Musda joined him, and they killed her. They tried to kill the calf as well, but it ran and climbed the hill, where it cried in a painful voice. The legends state that the calf entered the same stone from which its mother had emerged.

When Salih learned of the incident, he expressed grief and sorrow and addressed his people:

Qur’anic reminder: “Then they hamstrung the she-camel and insolently defied the order of their Lord, saying, ‘O Salih, bring about your threats if you are an apostle of God.’” (S: 7, V: 77)

After killing the manifestation of a miracle, instead of feeling sorry they justified themselves, debated with Salih, and told him to do what he wished.

Salih supplicated before the Lord, “O God, these people have rejected me, so now help me.”

God told him, “Very soon they will repent.”

Salih told them their respite was over and they should wait for the punishment.

Qur’anic warning: “But they did hamstring her. So he said, ‘Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days; then will be your ruin. Behold, this is a promise not to be belied.’” (S: 11, V: 65)

On the first day they grew pale. On the second day their faces turned red. On the third day they blackened from fear of the impending punishment.

After three days, lightning seized them, and they all perished in their homes except Salih and those who had embraced faith.

Qur’anic verdict: “The mighty Blast overtook the wrongdoers, and they lay prostrate in their homes before the morning, as if they had never dwelt and flourished there. Ah, behold, for the Samud rejected their Lord and Cherisher. Ah, behold, removed from sight were the Samud.” (S: 11, V: 67–68)

In the Holy Qur’an, the metaphor of a worn-out date tree trunk is used to describe the people of Samud. The worn-out trunk withers and falls, and grazing animals tread it down until it becomes like sawdust spread on the path.

Qur’anic summary: “The Sure Reality. What is the Sure Reality, and what will make you realize what the Sure Reality is? The Thamud and the Ad people branded as false the Stunning Calamity. But the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning, and the Ad were destroyed by a furious wind, exceedingly violent. He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see the whole people lying prostrate in its path, as if they had been roots of hollow palm trees tumbled down. Then do you see any of them left surviving?” (S: 69, V: 1–7)

“When Our decree issued, We saved Salih and those who believed with him by special grace from Ourselves and from the ignominy of that day. For your Lord is the Strong One, able to enforce His Will.” (S: 11, V: 66)

The morning sun over that town witnessed devastation and destruction. Grand palaces had turned into ruins. Green farms and orchards were gone. The entire area of Hejr looked like an archaeological excavation.

After the destruction of the Samud, Salih and his followers migrated towards Syria. When he passed the destroyed habitation, he saw the dead bodies and said sorrowfully:

“So Salih left them, saying, ‘O my people, I did indeed convey to you the message for which I was sent by my Lord. I gave you good counsel, but you love not good counselors.’” (S: 7, V: 79)

Salih stayed near Ramla for some time, then shifted to Makkah and breathed his last there. He was buried near the Ka‘bah toward the west.

A‘la and Hejr

Those killed by the lightning storm are estimated to be one thousand five hundred families, and those who survived and accompanied Salih to Makkah were one hundred and twenty people in all.

Relics and ruins of some of the Samud’s carved buildings and structures can be seen even today. Signs of the destruction of the Samud are found a few miles north of A‘la, a famous place between Medina and Tabuk. A‘la is still a green valley, whereas signs of devastation and natural disaster still surround Hejr and haunt it. This area is about four hundred miles long and one hundred miles wide, and its hills and mountains still bear the signs of a great jolt of an earthquake.

Researchers say that the Samud were destroyed because of a volcanic eruption, because signs of lava are present west of Madyan-e-Salih.

When the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was passing by Hejr during the Expedition of Tabuk, they camped there for a while. The Companions had taken water from the well of the Samud and were preparing to cook. When the Holy Prophet (PBUH) learned of this, he ordered them to throw the water away, empty the utensils, and told them neither to stay there nor to use anything from that place lest they invoke the wrath of God upon themselves. He said, “When you enter the valley of Hejr, enter humbly, fearing God. It would be better not to enter at all lest unknowingly you too be afflicted.”

It is reported that when the Holy Prophet entered Hejr, he said, “Never ask for a sign from God. The people of Salih demanded a sign, and the she-camel used to come out of the ridge of a mountain and, after eating and drinking on its turn, returned to where it had come from. On that day it provided the Samud with its milk, but finally they transgressed and killed her after hamstringing her. Eventually, God inflicted upon them the disaster of a shriek, and they all died in their homes. Only one man, Abu Ragal, remained because he was in the house of Salih, and he too died when he left it.”

Big Bang

Scientists and thinkers often mention the theory of the Big Bang, according to which the universe was once a very large sphere of light that exploded. The pieces of that sphere formed stars, the sun, the moon, and the planets. Vibrations of that Big Bang triggered the circulation of the stars and celestial bodies. Rotations and revolutions started the production of energy that produced heat. When heat cooled, clouds formed, causing rains, and life originated from the combination of heat and moisture.

Scientists also say that the waves of the sound of the Big Bang are still circulating in the cosmos. The discovery of ultrasound has confirmed that there are sounds which cannot be apprehended by human ears, yet these silent sounds possess a great magnitude of energy.

We have a complete system of sound waves before us in the form of the oceans. Waves traverse the surface continually, and when the force of wind joins the tides, a storm is produced in which all the sounds on the shores drown.

If the surface of the ocean is full of sounds, silence prevails in its depths. The waves of sound display themselves on the surface after emerging from the depths. Since our ears cannot hear the sounds in the depths, we call them silent sound. When, after emerging on the surface, the waves break and spread, they enter our hearing. It might be that the theory termed the Big Bang is the voice of the Unconscious, hinting at the Voice of God uttering “Be!”

The sound of the command “Be!” is an obscure sound. When this sound entered the center of the universe, it infused life into every particle of the cosmos.

Sound waves operate in every zone with their particular quanta and frequencies. The entire system of the universe functions on the basis of information, disseminated by the command “Be!” When information enters the Conscious, it becomes our senses. Information is a conglomeration of waves. A sound is sweet or harsh; this information is inscribed upon the net of waves. Information comes into the Individual Conscious from the Unconscious, or from the Unseen. Roar is such a wave of sound that exceeds the tolerance of the individual conscious. A harsher sound becomes a roar, and a roar is a set of sounds that disrupt the waves operating in life. Roar disrupts the conscious, and a person becomes like fodder. When the system of waves is disrupted, life transforms into death. Roar disrupts the hearing system, and disruption of the system is the disruption of the senses. It is commonly observed that an explosion impairs hearing and at times even rips the eardrums.

Such atomic bombs have been made that their explosions kill many thousands of people in an instant and cause mountains to smoke away. Explosions are also used in cutting and drilling rocks. Sounds, while a source of delight and pleasure, also lead to noise pollution. Sounds result from vibrations that travel as longitudinal waves. Flowing water of springs, waterfalls, drizzling rain, lightning, rumbling clouds, whispering breeze, rattling leaves, chirping birds, shrieking eagles and vultures, human speech, and all man-made machines are sources of sound waves.

Ultrasonic sounds

Bats, during flight in the dark, continuously emit sounds that are inaudible to human ears. When these sounds return to the bat’s ears, it receives information about its surroundings and instantly differentiates between a wall and a person, a tree and an animal, a moth and an owl. Because of the high frequency of these sounds, we cannot hear them. Scientists call these ultrasonic sounds or ultrasounds.

In 1884, the British scientist Sir Francis Galton discovered these sounds and made a whistle that emitted sound at a frequency of one hundred thousand cycles per second. Now scientists have succeeded in producing sounds with a frequency of one billion cycles per second and a wavelength of 0.00004 cm. Because of their very small wavelengths, ultrasound waves can be formed into a beam and relayed in a straight line with minimal dispersion.

Experiments have established that ultrasonic sound waves affect the nervous and other systems of living organisms, animals, and humans. Scientists of the U.S. Navy, during experiments with ultrasonic waves, found that they can render ocean animals like fish unconscious, and with higher frequencies, even kill them.

In the Second World War, people were told that Hitler was preparing a so-called magic gun, which upon firing would discourage the enemy and make them desert the battlefield, and if they did not, their nerves would wreck and they would be paralyzed. After the war, an under-construction gun was recovered which fired ultrasonic waves instead of ammunition.

Volcanic quakes

Geological calculations about the internal condition of the earth are based on waves produced by the pressure of lava, tremors, or quakes resulting from the breaking or movement of sedimentary rocks and plates. Sometimes energy is stored in the plates of the crust because of changes in lower layers of the earth’s crust. When this energy becomes unbearable for the surrounding rocks, it starts flowing toward a weaker corner of the crust with a thunderous outburst. Volcanic quakes result when magma, the boiling matter under the crust, erupts at the surface. The molten lava forms a conical structure at the mouth of its opening, known as a volcano.

All this happens when water seeps down to the molten lava, and the steam produced exerts pressure and causes the outbursts.

Point to note

In this story of Samud and Salih, God has told us that when people transgress and refuse to follow God-made laws, the wrath of God is initiated against them. The Samud were blessed with every bounty like fruit-laden orchards, resources to build and construct buildings embedded with gold and precious stones, and intellect and power. But they insisted upon ingratitude and did their best to disgrace the apostle of God. They witnessed the signs of God with their own eyes and still plotted against that miracle and even attempted to kill Salih. They demanded a miracle and then denied it affrontingly, taunting, “Where is the punishment you spoke of? Let us see it.”

Another point of great significance is that when the wrath of God is inflicted upon an habitation or a people, one should seek refuge in God from those people and that place.

Spiritual person

Spirituality is comprehensive knowledge of the unseen. Here, unseen refers to knowledge beyond the access of the conscious limits. Just as a person learns worldly sciences and experiments in light of learned knowledge so that new doctrines emerge, similarly a spiritual person, after surpassing the limiting conscious, enters the unconscious, learns knowledge, and on the basis of observation, attains certitude.

Every one of us is blessed with two sets of senses. Through the material senses we see things but remain oblivious to the fact that material senses do not have significance of their own. In the other set of abilities, our senses see without the obligation of the material lens, and understanding and interpretation are free from the interference of the material senses.

Every person has two bodies. One, considering itself all-powerful, says, “I drink water,” but if one is not thirsty, how can one drink water? What is this thirst? Thirst is an urge realized as information. Where is this information supplied from? If the supply of information is based upon the physical body, then why does one not feel thirsty after the last breath? Thinkers and scientists may reply, “Because life ends.”

The question remains, “What is life?” If one does not know this, how can one claim the power to live? The action we term as life is a temporary power granted for a certain period.

The other body is free from constraints. This body, like the physical body, sees, hears, and understands, but the norms of its sight are different.

When this second body, the Unconscious, witnesses the earth, it finds it resembling a papaya fruit, not a ball. It observes that the earth contains gases, but nothing solid and concrete; it is like a screen upon which a film is displayed. Not a single soul on this screen is original. Everything is a reflected image of the film projected from somewhere. When the projector is switched off and its light stops feeding the film, the images fade from sight.

It is also observed that the earth has rings set on it like round bands. These rings hold the earth in their grip. The earth moves linearly while rotating on its axis. This rotation is controlled by these rings, which are fixed in the earth like pegs.

Qur’anic reminder: “Do they not look at the camels, how they are made, and at the sky, how it is raised high, and at the mountains, how they are fixed firm, and at the earth, how it is spread out?” (S: 88, V: 18–20)

Oxygen and carbon dioxide are becoming life in every character of this movie displayed on the earth. Life is forming, dispersing, and breaking away. Six consciousnesses operate in this process. One of these six is absolutely unstable. Everything, even a speck of dust, has a consciousness, and its grip ends when life disintegrates. Life is composed of quantities. The system of these quantities functions perfectly and is directly related to Nature. When Nature becomes annoyed, the system breaks. The method for breaking the system is entirely at the discretion of Nature: through an earthquake, by winds, by floods, or by a blast.

God uttered the word “Be!” which the entire universe heard, and all existence came into being. Utterance is the command, and “it started happening” is the execution.

Every creation of the universe existed in the Mind of God. When creation heard the Voice of God, it became active and started moving, that is, energy ran through it and it became kinetic. Many are the Appellations of God, and each appellation represents complete creative potentials. One such appellation is Al-‘Aleem meaning All-Knowing. Being omniscient, God knew all the creative formulae even before the creation of the universe. When God intended to display the universe in a manifested form and for all creatures to become aware of their existence, He commanded “Be!”, and the universe stepped out of the screen of Knowledge. When the Will of God became active, the resources needed for creation also came into being.

The first phase of creation is Noor (Light): “God is the Light of the earth and the heavens.

In the first phase of creation the souls came into existence from the Noor of God, but these souls were in a state of oblivion and were not aware of their existence. So God made them listen to His voice, addressing them, “Am I not your Lord?” The souls replied, “Indeed, You are our Lord.”

The first Voice of God brought the souls into existence, and the second Voice equipped them with three main senses: hearing, sight, and speech.

These three senses are symbols of concentration. When ears are attentive, one hears. When sight is attentive, one sees. When the mind pays attention to the meanings of a question, one replies.

The Voice of God developed concentration in the souls of the universe, which was focused upon God. When the souls heard the Voice of God, the faculty of hearing became active. When the souls became attentive, the faculty of sight initiated. After seeing, they perceived themselves and their Lord. After perception, when they wanted to acknowledge, the faculty of speech was generated in them.

Child in the womb

A woman saw in a dream a fetus in the mother’s womb, in the initial phase of creation. The fetus was wearing a sort of headphone on its ears, and the wire ran to the wall of the womb. Curiosity made her put one end of that headphone to her ear after pulling it out of the fetus’s ear. She heard a very soft and kind voice saying, “I am your Lord. I will soon send you into the world, where you will stay for an appointed time.” The fetus listened very attentively. It could not speak but could hear and understand. It was receiving instruction for every moment of its life through that voice.

When she removed the earpiece from the fetus’s ear, it became upset as if deprived of life and started moving anxiously in the womb. The fetus was in such agony that she could not bear its pain, so she replaced the earpiece, and the fetus grew calm and returned to a peaceful position.

Then she witnessed a fetus of a cat that also had a headphone on its ears. When she inquisitively removed the earpiece to listen, she heard the same voice saying the same thing. The cat’s fetus became so upset from the removal that, after moving anxiously, it dissolved into thin air.

This world is a created realm where nothing exists without form and shape. Everything has individuality. The consciousness of individuality exists because of the physical body. Man is a conglomeration of incalculable cells. All the potentials that existed collectively in Adam are possessed individually by each person. The Adam of every species feeds the individual consciousness of its species. Individual consciousness remains associated with its collective or species’ consciousness in every state and every moment. The species’ consciousness is the consciousness of the soul that consists of the record of life of every species in the universe.

The Voice of God is the movement of the universe. The universe is like a globe in which the Voice of God is echoing. This echo is the movement. All the orders concerning life are stocked in the resounding command “Be!”

The chain of reproduction is the execution of this command. The utterance of the command “Be” perpetually echoes, and this resounding voice is a collection of incalculable varying frequencies. This collection keeps flowing continuously from transmitting stations far above the heavens in the form of Nooric falls. These frequencies, before transforming into a manifested form, first become a fantasy, then an idea, then imagination, and finally they manifest physically in form and figure.

This resounding echo is an assortment of various quantities. Balance of these quantities results in right moods; increase results in haste and fast activity; and decrease results in lassitude and lethargy. Winds, storms, cyclones, and tornadoes indicate agitation of these frequencies. A breeze indicates a moderate flow.

Reason for accidents

Any accident, whether small or huge, results from imbalance in the system of frequencies. The universe operates under a system. Every individual is given a duty to help run this system smoothly. The sun has its duty, the moon has its duty, the air performs its duty, and the oceans and smoothly flowing rivers have their duties.

Qur’anic reminder: “A sign for them is the earth that is dead. We give it life and produce grain therefrom, of which they eat. We produce therein orchards with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein, that they may enjoy the fruits of this artistry. It was not their hands that made this. Will they not then give thanks? Glory to God, who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own human kind and other things of which they have no knowledge. And a sign for them is the Night. We withdraw therefrom the Day, and behold they are plunged in darkness, and the Sun runs its course for a period determined for it. That is the decree of Him, the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing. And the Moon, We have measured for her mansions to traverse till she returns like the old and withered lower part of a date stalk. It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day. Each swims along in its own orbit according to Law. And a sign for them is that We bore their race through the Flood in the loaded Ark. We have created for them similar vessels on which they ride. If it were Our Will, We could drown them. Then there would be no helper to hear their cry, nor could they be delivered, except by a mercy from Us and by way of worldly convenience to serve them for a time.” (S: 36, V: 33–44)

When injustice, usurpation of rights, jealousy, greed, lust, and estrangement from God cross the limits of moderation and balance, the system starts to disintegrate. To cleanse and purge the system, winds start blowing, storms rage, and fire rains where it used to snow and vice versa.

This law operates in the stories of the rise and fall of nations, their rewards and punishments. The God-made system helps those nations that live according to the code of creative formulae, guard their own and others’ rights, and love their country. But when a nation deviates from the laws of God and starts interfering in the system of Nature, Nature throws it out of its system. Earth, land, and Nature’s system remain intact, but man is buried in the pits of annihilation and extinction.

It has been estimated in light of historical evidence that mankind and related species are destroyed for poking their noses into the system of Nature, and life starts anew from the caves and the stone age. Upon completion of ten thousand years, man does the same things again in the name of development and progress that his ancestors committed.

The two main factors of mass destruction of mankind are:

  1. Joining partners with God. Giving priority to wealth and riches is also a form of associating partners with Him.
  2. Interfering in matters which Nature has particularized for itself.

Development and progress of today in the name of poverty alleviation often becomes a form of amassing wealth. Human values are trampled for economic stability, and every mortal and perishable thing is depended upon. Temporary comforts and non-lasting facilities and wealth-worship have become the aim of life.

Cloning and similar pursuits are a direct intrusion into the works of Nature that disrupt the system of Nature. The desire to subjugate other nations is also a form of wealth worship. To overpower others by terrorizing them is a revolt against equality.

In the light of the history of destruction and disasters, it is observed that people gave importance to wealth and riches after refuting the oneness of God, worshipped self-made idols, killed fellow human beings, and, in spite of knowing that everybody who has come to this world has to leave it, clung to the material world. Amassing wealth became the most favored pursuit, and faith in the life hereafter vanished.

Disagreement with prophets and refusal of their teachings is deviation from Nature. When a person establishes a relationship with the temporal world by dissociating himself from Nature, the laws of Nature leave him to himself.
