In the structure of creation, the soul has three parts. The Supreme Soul, the Human Soul, and the Animal Soul.
The Supreme Soul is composed of the elements of Necessary Knowledge.
The Human Soul is formed from the elements of the Knowledge of Oneness.
The Animal Soul is composed of the composite elements of Universal Flow.
The beginning of the Supreme Soul is the Most Hidden Subtle Center and its end is the Hidden Subtle Center. This is a circle of light in which all unseen knowledge of the universe is imprinted. These are the same realities that hold the true record of events from pre-eternity to post-eternity. Within this circle, the purposes and secrets of creation are preserved. This circle is called the Fixed Reality.
The beginning of the Human Soul is the Secret Subtle Center and its end is the Spiritual Subtle Center. This too is a circle of light. Within this circle are imprinted the commands that form the character and conduct of life. The name of this circle is the Manifest Realities.
The beginning of the Animal Soul is the Heart Subtle Center and its end is the Self Subtle Center. This is the third circle of light. Its name is the Operational Sphere. Within this circle every action of life is recorded. Both aspects of action, those governed by Divine command and those involving the choice of humans and unseen beings, are recorded layer by layer.
All three circles of light are interwoven with one another like three pages. Their collective name is the Soul, the Divine Command, the Indivisible Essence, or the Human Being.
A subtle center is the name given to a form or shape that reveals meaning through its features. For example, the flame of a candle is such a subtle center in which illumination, color, and heat are gathered in one place. From their arrangement a flame is formed, which is a form of perception. The form that comes into existence from these three components is called a flame. Each component that the flame manifests is called a subtle center.
Subtle Center One
The illumination of the flame.
Subtle Center Two
The color of the flame.
Subtle Center Three
The heat of the flame.
The collective name of these three subtle centers is the candle. When a person uses the word candle, what is meant in meaning is the unified and combined form of all three subtle centers.
In the same way, the human soul contains six subtle centers, the first of which is the Most Hidden Subtle Center. The Most Hidden Subtle Center is the name given to the film of Divine Knowledge. This film can be observed through the light of the Hidden Subtle Center. The collective name of these two subtle centers is the Fixed Reality. Thus, the Fixed Reality has two applications. One application refers to the representations of Divine Knowledge, and the second application refers to the light of the soul through which those representations are observed.
In the language of Tasawuf/spiritual science, the collective name of both applications is Tadalli. Tadalli is, in reality, the formation of the Divine Names. The Divine Names are those attributes of God which become a reflection of the Essence and take the form of gradual manifestation. These very attributes permeate every particle of existence in the form of Tadalli. The purposes of birth, elevation, and decline are all contained within this Tadalli. From this Tadalli begins the reflection of Divine Knowledge. The person upon whom this reflection of Divine Knowledge is unveiled becomes aware of Divine destiny. The record of this Tadalli or Tajalli is preserved within the Fixed Reality. This is an explanation of the relationship between the Creator and the creation, meaning that the one who understands the symbolic letters is able to read the Divine attribute of Tadalli, which is the symbol of governance.
A person who possesses knowledge of Tadalli, when he reads Alif Lam Mim, has unveiled upon him all the secrets and symbols that God has described in the opening of the second chapter of the Qur’an. Through Alif Lam Mim, those secrets are disclosed to the one endowed with inner witnessing which are the very lifeline of all created beings. He perceives the Divine attribute of Tadalli which is embedded, in the form of Tajalli, within the soul of every particle of the universe. When a person of inner witnessing observes the royal inscription within the Hidden Subtle Center of an individual, he understands that within that point the lights of the attribute of Tadalli are absorbed. These very lights unveil all events from pre-eternity to post-eternity. The unveiling of the inner reality of the Hidden Subtle Center is the unveiling of the Most Hidden Subtle Center, and the collective name of both subtle centers is the Supreme Soul or the Fixed Reality.
If we assume the Fixed Reality to be a single point or a single page, then one side of that page is the Most Hidden Subtle Center and the other side is the Hidden Subtle Center. In reality, the Hidden Subtle Center is a condensed form of luminous writing. When a person who possesses inner knowledge reads it, he becomes fully aware of its complete meaning.
This meaning cannot be described as brief, because even though it appears in a condensed form, it fully explains all Divine purposes related to the birth of an individual. In the terminology of inner knowledge, this is called the Divine Names or the Knowledge of the Pen. This knowledge is composed of two parts.
The first part is the Divine Names.
The second part is the Knowledge of the Disjointed Letters.
