When young children are afflicted by the evil eye, they often stop drinking milk and become unusually irritable. They cry without any apparent reason, and this condition causes great distress for the parents and everyone in the household.

To remove the effect of the evil eye, take a blue thread and measure it from the child’s head to the feet seven times. Recite یَابَرُّ (Ya Barru) seven times, blow upon the child, and then blow upon the thread. After this, burn the thread. By the grace of Allah, the harmful influence of the evil eye will come to an end.

For protection against intoxication, destructive habits, and evil inclinations, sit facing the Holy Kaaba after performing ablution. Recite یَابَرُّ (Ya Barru) one thousand one hundred times. Through this practice, a strong hatred and aversion for sinful deeds will arise within the heart.

To fully benefit from this divinely inspired aversion to evil, a person must also use his own willpower, decision-making, and self-discipline to remain firm upon the right path.
