There are many hymns and prayers in the Old Testament in which the coming of a great person and savior has been predicted. This greatest of all persons, the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), has been referred to as Light, Praised One, Righteous, and the Trustworthy in various Psalms of David.
“Thou would bless the Truthful. The Lord shall cover him like a shield.”
(Psalms 5:12)
“And he would judge the world honestly and do justice with the nations.”
(Psalms 8:9)
“We will see the Light because of his light.”
(Psalms 36:9)
“He would bring Thy Truth like light and Reality like the sunshine of noon.”
(Psalms 37:6)
“Truthful would inherit the world and live forever. His mouth speaks wisdom, his tongue will say just things, and the ways of his Lord are in his heart, and he would not slip from his path.”
(Psalms 37:20)
“Send down thy light and truth to guide me and take me to Thy abode.”
“You are the most beautiful of all men, your lips are full of delicacies. God has blessed you forever. Wear your sword, which is thy decoration, and ride with grace for the sake of knowledge, righteousness, and tolerance. Your right hand would give you distinction in the eyes of people. Pointed are your arrows that are piercing the hearts of the enemies of the king. People have surrendered before you.”
(Psalms 45:2-5)
“Extol him that rides in the desert by his name Jah, and rejoice before him—a father of the fatherless and a judge of the widows. God sets the solitary in families; he brings out those who are bound with chains, but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. O God, when thou went forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness…”
(Psalms 68:7-41)
“In his days shall the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures. He shall have dominion also from sea to sea and from the river unto the ends of the earth. They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust. The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. Yea, all kings shall bow down before him; all nations shall serve him. For he shall deliver the needy when he cries, the poor also, and him that hath no helper. He shall spare the poor and needy and shall save the souls of the needy. He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence, and precious shall their blood be in his sight. And he shall live, and to him shall be given the gold of Sheba; prayer also shall be made for him continually, and daily shall he be praised. There shall be a handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon, and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth. His name shall endure forever; his name shall continue as long as the sun, and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.”
(Psalms 72:7-17)
“Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house; they will still be praising thee. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee, in whose heart are the ways of Meyon; who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well, the rain also fills the pools.”
(Psalms 84:4-6)
“This shall be written for the generation to come, and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.”
(Psalms 102:18)
“Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise.”
(Psalms 109:1)
“Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness: he is gracious and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man sheweth favor and lends; he will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he shall not be moved forever; the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is established, he shall not be afraid until he sees his desire upon his enemies. He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor. The wicked shall see it and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth and melt away; the desire of the wicked shall perish.”
(Psalms 112:4-10)
Birds, animals and hills sang hymns with David
With the passage of time, the Old Testament suffered alterations and now it is not found in its original form.
David was blessed with an excellent voice. When he would chant the Psalms in his melodious voice, flowing water would stop, and birds flying in the sky would come near him and sit around. The hills, birds, and animals celebrated the praises of the Lord God by joining him in his hymn.
“We subjugated mountains to him, and they declared Our praises, in unison with him, at eventides and at break of day; and the birds gathered around him; all with him did turn to God.”
(Surah Sad, 38:18-19)
Points to note:
Voices are part of our life. Sounds are a means of communication and a way to exchange information. We learn about things with the help of voices, and there are many things that we enjoy only because of sounds. Chirping of birds, murmuring of flowing air, hum of water, clattering of leaves, laughter of a child in a pram, voices of street hawkers, rumbles of machines, shrieks of airplanes—all these make us feel good or bad about our surroundings. Besides them, there are many sounds that we cannot hear, though they keep striking our eardrums because their wavelengths are either beyond or below the range our ears can detect.
Ultrasounds are now commonly used for diagnosing diseases, industrial purposes, and research. Echo and vibrations help us use them. With these waves, even various states of matter can be identified.
Science has discovered that the human hearing range is between 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, while ultrasound waves range from 20,000 Hz to 20 million Hz, making them inaudible to us.
Waves are basically of two types: one where particles of the medium move to and fro (longitudinal), and another where they move up and down (transverse). Waves are classified based on their wavelength and frequency. The distance between two points of the same phase in a wave cycle is the wavelength. A wave cycle is complete when both upward and downward movements occur.
Frequency is the number of wave cycles passing through a point in one second. Higher frequency means shorter wavelength, and lower frequency means longer wavelength. When the frequency exceeds a certain limit, waves become rays and travel in straight lines. Because of their high frequency and short wavelength, their ability to penetrate substances increases.
It is stated repeatedly in the Quran that everything praises its Lord. This implies that everything in the universe communicates, hears, and recognizes one another.
“The seven heavens and the earth and all beings therein declare His glory! Verily, He is Oft-Forbearing, Most Forgiving.”
(Surah Al-Isra, 17:44)
Shah Waliullah explained that when a person is strong-willed and spiritually focused, he may hear wisdom even from a tree or stone. This power of perception can affect those around him too.
“And We bestowed grace aforetime on David from Ourselves: ‘O ye mountains! Sing ye back the praises of God with him!’ And ye birds! And We made the iron soft for him, commanding: ‘Make thou coats of mail, balancing well the rings of chain armor, and work ye righteousness; for be sure I see all that ye do.’”
(Surah Saba, 34:10-11)
Inventions made of iron:
God gave David the ability to mold iron by hand. Archaeological studies suggest that the use of iron dates to around 1000–1200 BC—David’s era. Melting and casting iron was complex and expensive at that time. David introduced simpler metallurgy methods, making iron use widespread. His innovations strengthened his nation in warfare, as helmets, chain armor, and coats of mail were essential protection. He caused the iron industry to flourish.
David was not only blessed with a melodious voice but also deep knowledge of sound. He improved Hebrew, Egyptian, and Babylonian musical instruments and invented new ones.
He did not take money from the treasury; he earned his living by selling the armor he made.
There was a soldier named Oriya in David’s army who had a beautiful wife. David expressed his desire for her and asked Oriya to divorce her. God showed him a vision to guide him toward justice.
“Has the story of the disputants reached thee? Behold, they climbed over the wall of the private chamber (of David). When they entered the presence of David, he was terrified. They said, ‘Fear not. We are two disputants; one has wronged the other. Decide between us with truth. This man is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes, and I have only one. Yet he says to give her to him and is harsh in speech.’ David said, ‘He has wronged you in demanding your only ewe. Truly many partners in business wrong each other, except those who believe and do righteous deeds—and how few they are!’ David realized that We had tested him. He asked forgiveness from his Lord, fell in prostration, and repented. So We forgave him; indeed, he enjoyed Our closeness and a beautiful place of return.”
(Surah Sad, 38:21-25)
David saw angels descending on the Dome of the Rock through his inner eye. The Dome had been destroyed by Goliath. David prayed for strength to rebuild it.
People had stopped observing the Sabbath, commanded by Moses. To disobey, they dug ponds near rivers and opened canals on Fridays so fish would gather there on Saturday. They then harvested them on Sunday. David warned them, but they ignored him.
As punishment, they were transformed into apes. Their speech was lost, but their senses remained. Seventy thousand people were transformed. Their bodies smelled, and they died lamenting over three days.
“And well ye know those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath: We said to them, ‘Be ye apes, despised and rejected.’”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:65)
Explanation of Shah Waliullah:
He stated that fish causes bodily decay. Continued consumption after divine prohibition disturbed the astral body. Energy imbalance caused hair growth like apes and distorted features. Disgrace and shame led to their death.
Laser:
It is said that iron would become soft like wax in David’s hands, and he molded it into armor.
Science now explains that laser is different from ordinary light, which splits into seven colors. Laser is monochromatic and does not disperse. It travels straight, maintaining energy and form due to uniform wavelength and synchronized wave crests.
Atoms emit photons when excited. Laser works by synchronizing photon emission so all travel in one phase and direction, forming a focused, powerful light beam.
Carbon dioxide lasers, used in cutting, are made from CO₂ and nitrogen and emit infrared rays. These raise the energy level of matter, causing evaporation. Laser is now used in almost every area of life.
Warf and weft of light waves:
Every being is formed from simple and compound waves. One who knows Divine Names can manipulate simple waves. David focused such waves through his hands, softening iron like clay. An iron pot from David’s time, shaped by hand, is preserved in Turkey’s Topkapi Museum.
The universe has man, jinn, and angels across realms. Man is made from compound waves; jinn and angels from simple waves. Like a woven fabric of warp and weft, compound waves make visible beings; simple waves form invisible ones.
Jinns and angels can pass through solid matter. When iron is heated to 1539°C, simple nasma dominates, softening it. David’s God-given power let him use nasma (energy) like laser to mold iron. Once done, his nasma returned to normal. This indicates David knew the laser equation and used it to make armor. And the iron pot considered to belong to David’s era is an attraction for visitors in Topkapi, the Turkish Museum. It appears to have been prepared just as a potter fashions utensils of clay using his hands.
This universe is fashioned with two sides. There are inestimable creatures in this universe, but only three of them are more prominent than the others—man, jinns, and angels. These three creatures are found in every realm and on every earth in the cosmos, just as they are here on this planet of ours. Our Earth is also rich with many gases. Light waves continue to feed these gases. Light travels in waves. Angels and jinns are products of simple waves, but man is a creation of compound waves. This can easily be understood by considering the example of woven fabric.
Fabric is prepared using warps and wefts of yarn. If the yarn of warp and weft is taken as waves, it could be said that despite their segregation, the moving threads are integrated. Similarly, if only simple waves (like just the warp or weft) are used to make cloth, and a picture containing specific features is drawn upon that cloth, that picture could represent an angel or a jinn. However, if an oppositely directed movement is infused into the warp of this fabric, it transforms the simple fabric into one of compound features. That is—the form and features made from compound waves represent man, and this is the world of man.
Simple and Compound Waves:
The singular movement or simple wave is the world of jinns, while the compound wave or compounded movement is the world of man. The body formed from simple waves is known as nasma. Physical eyes cannot see it, but the body made of compound waves can be seen.
Simple waves can pass through everything. A person overpowered by simple waves can pass through solid walls, fly in the air, and transform one thing into another.
Our solid world holds no significance for angels, and similarly, the density of solid matter cannot contain the jinns either.
When iron is put into a furnace, the intense heat at 1539°C causes the compound nasma of the iron to be dominated by simple nasma. When simple nasma overpowers the compound nasma, the iron softens.
When David, using the powers granted to him by God, intended to mold iron, the waves of compound nasma circulating in his hands would convert into simple nasma and act like the heat of 1539°C. Upon completion of the task, the overpowering waves of simple nasma would return to normal, and he would use his hands as usual. This entire process points to one conclusion—that David was familiar with the equation of laser, and by using the power of laser-like waves, he softened the iron and molded it into chain armors, helmets, coats of mail, and more.
