Muraqaba of Life after Death

Human Life and Death

Human life does not end with death. After death, the human ego takes on the form of an illuminating body upon leaving the physical body. Through this illuminating body, it remains active. Much like in dreams, where the physical senses (physical world) become subordinated to the subconscious senses (senses of the world of lights) but do not become idle. Our condition during sleep resembles death. However, when the dominant senses of the body of light take over the senses of the physical body in such a way that the physical senses are unable to regain dominance, then the physical body becomes permanently idle. This is what death is.

The Muraqaba of afterlife is practiced to recess the physical senses by imposing the senses of the body of light temporarily. When the student becomes skilled, then they can suspend their physical senses (consciousness) and let the senses of light (subconscious) take over whenever they wish, and vice versa.

There is a famous saying of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ:
“Die before death clutches you”

This Hadith points to the idea of experiencing life after death while still alive and well by subordinating the physical senses to the subconscious. In this way, one can discover the world where souls live after the death of their bodies.

Aeraaf Practice

Lie down in a comfortable place. Then shift focus to every part of your body to relax. Imagine that you are flying in space in your body of light, heading towards life after death. Gradually, the body of light (Aura) becomes activated and is able to witness the realm where humans move after death and to observe their lifestyle.

Sit in a squat position, close your mouth, inhale slowly through your nostrils, and hold. Keep on holding as long as you can, then open your mouth and slowly exhale. Imagine the depth of the grave and spiritually step inside the grave.

Now we are under the grave… a mixed smell of soil and camphor is all over the place. Here the oxygen is so low that it is suffocating. Eyes are getting heavy and sleepy. Eyelids are still. Blinking has stopped. The vision is now focused at one point. Right before the eyes we are seeing small and big spring-like circles come towards us. Glory to God! How delightful and colorful the scenery is. How come suddenly it is dark now… I cannot even see my hands…

Look!

In front of us, about two hundred miles away, there is a light in space. There is a door nearby. Let us go inside.

Wow! There is a whole city in there. High-rise buildings, well-built buildings, and others not so great as well. There are bayous and a wash area too. Lush greenery, flowers, and trees with fruits. In the town there are palaces and stone-age-like caves where people live, all in the same place.

When I looked inside the caves, they were very dark, where human souls were resting. In this part of the supernatural world, everyone was nude. They were not even aware of clothing. These nude people watched me in amazement. Finally, one of them asked why I carried the “load” of clothing on my body, though by appearance I looked like them.

After long debate, we learned that these souls belong to the time when the inhabitants of the world had no social order and no idea about the need to cover themselves.

Magnificent City

This city, whose population exceeds billions and trillions, has been there for millions of years. You can walk around and see the culture and civilization of countless ages. Here there are some people unaware of the use of fire, who would be classified as stone-age people, and others far more advanced than we are in our current age. They had created advanced aircraft and missiles. Some nations had discovered formulas that negated gravity, reducing the mass of thousands of tons to less than that of a pillow for construction.

There were those who had control over time and space and could know what angels were doing while still living on earth. Through their inventions they could avert winds and reduce the intensity of storms. In this city, there are guests of Paradise and others awaiting their turn for Hell.

Business

In the marketplace, I saw shops but no shoppers. In one shop, a man sat gloomy, surrounded by empty boxes. He said, “It has been five hundred years and not a single customer has come.” On inquiry, it was revealed that he was a capitalist in the world, who practiced profiteering and fraud.

In another shop, an old man with fearful eyes and unkempt hair was endlessly calculating figures. He screamed every time the totals came out wrong. “I have been doing this for three thousand years,” he said, “because in life I was an accountant who cooked the books.”

Evil Religious Leaders

I saw a mullah whose beard was so long he had to wrap it around his hips, but it would unwind and make him fall. He confessed, “I grew this beard only to deceive people.”

Another mullah shouted, “Come, I will tell you what God has said!” Angels approached and demanded he tell them. He first asked for water. They gave him boiling water, and when he refused, they poured it on his face, mocking him: “He used God’s name for his own motives, here and in the world.” His screams were unbearable.

Gossip and Backbiting

In one place, I saw women in misery. One had legs ten feet long, burning like charcoal. She confessed, “In life I was known for gossip.”

Elsewhere, a man stabbed another with a knife and drank his blood, then vomited. He said, “I wish I had known this was the punishment for backbiting.”

Tall Buildings

I saw tall men, twenty feet high, with bodies so wide they could not enter their own houses. They were in pain, crying. One said, “I built these with the wealth of orphans. Now the doors are closed to me. Fire burns inside me, and there is no escape.”

Angel of Death

I then saw Izraeel, the Angel of Death. He held my hand, and a current of energy shook me to the ground. He showed me a holy man lying ready to depart. His forehead shone like the sun. Izraeel said, “God wishes to see you.” The man’s soul left his body peacefully, and the angel departed to the skies.

Muraqaba of Nur

According to spiritual science, the main ingredient of creation is Nur (Light). The Qur’an says:
“God is the Nur of the skies and the earth.”

Nur is a special form of light that guides and connects past and present. Without this connection, the universe would collapse. It is through Nur that we remember the past, and by Nur that angels, humans, and jinn function.

Students are given the Muraqaba of Nur to experience this reality. They imagine:

  • The entire universe immersed in an ocean of Nur.
  • A stream of Nur shining on the world from the Divine Throne.
  • Their body lit by the lamp described in the Qur’an:
“God is the Nur of the skies and the earth. Its example is like a lamp placed inside a glass.”

All religions mention this invisible light. The Bible states: “And when God said light, there was light.” Moses saw it in the burning bush. Hindus call it Jot.

In spirituality, this practice is universal, allowing the seeker to experience the Light of God.
